Dr Chris Turner - MSc,

Qualified in Dental Surgery at the Royal Dental Hospital, London with distinctions in 1968. He gained his Fellowship in 1976 and obtained his postgraduate training in Newcastle and London, where he gained his Master of Dental Surgery and Master of Science Degrees.

In 1980 he was appointed Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and established the Department of Dental Services as first Head of Department at the University of Sheffield, then Director of Dental Services in Salisbury for 12 years. Chris has given numerous postgraduate training courses for other dentists both in the UK & abroad, and is in demand as a lecturer and expert witness. He has over 70 publications in the literature.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has lived near Cirencester for 12 years. His particular interests are cosmetic dentistry, temporomandibular joint and bite problems, implants and oral rehabilitation using crowns and bridges.

He is the inventor (in 1972) of colour coded periodontal pocket probes and (in 1977) the expanded gingival graft technique. Together with his hygienist, Catherine Morgan, he provides a comprehensive periodontal care programme, including when required, periodontal surgery. Together they aim to have short waiting lists for initial assessment.

Expert witness - He works as expert witness providing reports and treatment plans for accident victims.
